VIDEO
THE COMPANY PROJECT
The Company Project wanted to create a promo video for use on their website and social media platforms in 2020. The studio owner wanted to make sure we highlighted each style of dance class offered, hashtags he created to promote the studio, and a mention of the winning reputation of the competition team. I used dance competition footage along with footage I shot in various classes and rehearsals at the studio. In post-production, I added special effects, dynamic transitions, animated text and graphics. The most interesting challenge of the final compilation of dance clips was the need to make all the different styles of dance in each clip match up to the same background song while displaying the best examples of well-executed dance technique.
CA TECHNOLOGIES
In 2017, as an Employer Brand Consultant for CA Technologies, I was asked to create something fun for social media to celebrate Employee Appreciation Week, incorporating the HR-selected theme of Health & Wellness. I created a storyboard to highlight CA’s employee benefits and some popular “work hacks” related to fitness, mindfulness and nutrition. To make this more fun, I proposed the concept of a silly, over-the-top 80s style montage with music to match. Each person included in the video were real employees who volunteered to be involved. Small details—a missed high five, poorly-synchronized cubicle dances, over-enthusiastic smiles and thumbs up—were added to ensure the audience received the video as hilarious satire rather than an unironically outdated corporate video. In post production, I added grain effects, freeze frames and retro caption typography for the titles, adding further to the retro montage style.
